When You Don't Feel Like Yourself

Quick take

Signals

Symptoms are connected.

Energy, sleep, mood, libido, and body composition often shift together. Revi looks for the pattern instead of treating one complaint in isolation.

Labs First

Your numbers lead the conversation.

Comprehensive lab work comes before the first consultation, so decisions are grounded in real hormone and metabolic data.

Personal Plan

Adjusted around your response.

If hormone therapy fits, the plan is personalized, monitored, and refined over time instead of copied from a standard protocol.

Most patients arrive at hormone therapy after months or years of feeling "off" without a clear reason. Energy, sleep, mood, body composition, libido, mental clarity — one or more has slipped, and the gradual nature of the change made it hard to spot the cause. Hormones often turn out to be a meaningful piece of the picture.

At Revi, we don't guess. Comprehensive lab work before your first visit means your consultation is grounded in real data about what your hormones are actually doing — not assumptions based on age or symptoms alone.

SIGNS OF HORMONE IMBALANCE

Hormonal shifts rarely announce themselves with a single dramatic symptom. They usually show up as a constellation:

  • Ongoing fatigue or low energy that doesn't respond to rest
  • Brain fog, mood changes, irritability, or motivation loss
  • Weight gain or difficulty maintaining body composition
  • Reduced strength, endurance, or workout recovery
  • Poor or non-restorative sleep
  • Decline in libido or sexual function
  • Skin and hair changes (thinning, dullness, slower healing)
  • A general sense of "not feeling like myself"

None of these alone is diagnostic. Together they're worth a conversation grounded in lab work.

POSSIBLE BENEFITS

When medically appropriate and based on your individual labs, bioidentical hormone therapy may support:

  • Steadier daily energy
  • Clearer thinking and balanced mood
  • Healthier metabolism and body composition
  • Better sleep and recovery
  • Improved libido and sexual function
  • Greater physical strength and resilience
  • Overall sense of well-being

Results vary by individual; what's described here may not be typical.

OUR APPROACH — FOUR STEPS

The same process for every hormone therapy patient at Revi.

1. Comprehensive labs before your first visit. Hormone panel (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, cortisol, thyroid panel as appropriate), metabolic markers, and overall health indicators. Your consultation begins with real data.

2. Clinical review. Your labs, symptoms, medical history, and wellness goals are reviewed together to determine whether hormone therapy or another approach may be appropriate.

3. Personalized treatment plan. Hormone selection, delivery method, dosing, and monitoring are tailored to your individual physiology rather than a standard protocol.

4. Ongoing monitoring. Follow-up laboratory testing and clinical evaluation guide thoughtful adjustments over time. Your protocol evolves as your body responds.

HORMONE THERAPY FOR MEN

Common reasons men come to us:

  • Persistent fatigue and energy loss
  • Loss of strength, muscle, or workout recovery
  • Stubborn weight gain (especially around the midsection)
  • Brain fog or mood shifts
  • Decline in libido or sexual function
  • Poor sleep quality

When labs show low testosterone, low free testosterone, suboptimal thyroid function, or related imbalances, treatment options may include testosterone replacement therapy and supporting therapies. We evaluate the broader picture (insulin resistance, thyroid, cortisol patterns) before recommending a plan — not just the testosterone number in isolation.

When men on testosterone therapy want to preserve fertility and natural testicular function, supporting peptide therapies like Gonadorelin may be appropriate. Discussed during your consultation.

HORMONE THERAPY FOR WOMEN

Common reasons women come to us:

  • Perimenopause symptoms (hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood shifts, cycle irregularity)
  • Postmenopausal symptoms (energy, libido, sleep, cognitive function)
  • Persistent fatigue, brain fog, or mood changes that aren't responding to other approaches
  • Body composition changes that don't match your inputs
  • Skin and hair changes coinciding with hormonal life-stage transitions

Treatment options may include bioidentical estrogen, progesterone, testosterone (yes, women need testosterone too — at far lower doses than men), thyroid optimization, and adrenal support. Your provider determines what's appropriate based on your labs and stage of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

When appropriately prescribed based on lab work and monitored over time, BHRT has a long clinical history. Risks and contraindications are reviewed individually. Patients with active hormone-sensitive cancers, certain cardiovascular conditions, or other contraindications may not be candidates; your provider will discuss this with you.

Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the hormones your body naturally produces. Conventional HRT includes both bioidentical and non-bioidentical (synthetic) preparations. The choice depends on your case; we discuss the rationale during your consultation.

Most patients notice meaningful changes within 4-8 weeks of starting therapy, with continued gains over the following months as dosing is optimized. Some symptoms (sleep, mood, energy) often improve sooner; body composition changes take longer.

This is individual. Some patients benefit from long-term therapy; others use it for a defined period through a life-stage transition such as perimenopause or andropause. Your provider plans the duration with you and reviews periodically.

Sometimes, if your provider determines both are appropriate. Hormones address the foundational endocrine picture; peptide therapy, when appropriate, is considered in the context of your labs, goals, and overall plan.

Costs vary based on your labs, treatment plan, prescriptions, and follow-up needs. We review pricing and options during your consultation before treatment begins.

Plenty of patients use both. Hormone optimization addresses the underlying endocrine drivers; GLP-1 medications address appetite and metabolic regulation. The two often work better together than either alone.
