The Foundation of Lab-Based Care

Why Labs
Come First.

Treating symptoms without lab data is guessing. Real data lets us see what's actually happening in your body — and build a plan that addresses the underlying drivers, not the surface complaints.

What We Test

Quick take

What We Test

The panel tells a bigger story.

Hormones, thyroid, metabolism, inflammation, and related markers help show what may be driving symptoms.

Interpretation

Normal is not always optimal.

We look at patterns, not just isolated lab ranges, so the consultation has real context.

Follow-Up

Track response over time.

Repeat labs help show whether the plan is moving your body in the right direction.

Your specific panel is determined by your provider based on your symptoms, goals, and history. A typical comprehensive Revi panel includes:

Hormone Panel
Testosterone (total + free), estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, cortisol, SHBG
Thyroid Markers
TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies
Metabolic Panel
Glucose, insulin, HbA1c, lipid panel, liver and kidney function
Inflammation
hsCRP, homocysteine, ferritin
Vitamins & Minerals
Vitamin D, B12, folate, ferritin, magnesium
Goal-Specific
PSA for men, AMH for women, IGF-1 for recovery focus, etc.

Why "Normal" Isn't Enough

Standard lab reports compare your values to a population reference range — averages drawn from thousands of people, many of whom aren't optimally healthy. "Normal" on a lab report can mean "not in the bottom 2.5% of the population" — which isn't the same as optimal for you.

We read your labs in the context of:

  • Your symptoms. If your testosterone is "normal" but your energy, libido, recovery, and mood all match low-T patterns, that matters.
  • Your age and life stage. Optimal ranges shift through your 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond.
  • Your goals. A competitive masters athlete and a sedentary office worker may need different targets — even if both technically test "normal."
  • Your patterns over time. A single lab is a snapshot. Trends across multiple draws are far more useful for guiding treatment.

How Often Do You Re-Test?

Typical re-testing intervals at Revi:

  • 8-12 weeks after starting a new therapy — to confirm the dose and protocol are working as expected and to adjust if needed
  • Every 6 months once you're stable on therapy, to monitor for drift and side effects
  • Anytime symptoms change — if something shifts, the labs help us understand why

This is in contrast to clinics that prescribe once and re-test only when you ask. Lab-based monitoring is what makes the difference between an open-loop guess and a managed protocol.

Where Lab Work Happens

Revi orders the appropriate lab panel, then sends you to a local outpatient lab in Lincoln for the blood draw. Once results are back, our clinical team reviews them before your consultation so your plan starts with real data.

Lab Costs

Lab costs vary based on the panel ordered. We keep the process clear when you book, so you know what is being ordered and why before moving forward.
