A few patterns explain most of the cases we see:
Systemic recovery capacity. Sleep debt, low protein intake, chronic stress, inflammation, and hormone shifts can all make aches linger longer than expected.
Low-grade inflammation. Chronic low-level inflammation — from training load, stress, sleep debt, metabolic strain, or aging — keeps tissue in a partial-repair state. The body never fully clears the backlog.
Age-related hormone shifts. As hormone patterns change after your 30s, the same workload can feel harder and soreness can last longer.
